The popular Spanish chef José Andrés has launched an audiovisual production company, José Andrés Media, with which he intends to elaborate television series, books, podcasts and digital content focused on culinary culture.
“It has been my dream for years launch José Andrés Media to tell stories about who we are through the food we eat,” he told Variety Andrés magazine, who said that the content will be “creative, fun, inspiring and authentic”.
“The food is much more than a plate with ingredients, it tells us where we come from and where are we going,” he added.
The first of José Andrés Media’s projects will be a series of six episodes recorded in Spain and created together with the British Nutopia documentary production company, which in the USA. Discovery Plus channel will be issued.
Front of José Andrés Media will be Sam Bakhshandehpour, President of Thinkfoodgroup, the company under which the different chef’s restaurants are grouped together in the US capital.
Meanwhile, the journalist and writer Richard Wolffe, one of the co-authors of Andrés recipe books, will be the executive director.
The Asturian is also the founder of World Central Kitchen, a non-profit organization with which food is offered to persons impacted by natural disasters, as they did in Puerto Rico after the impact of Hurricane María in 2017.
“José Andrés Media will be the personification of Andrés values that people like: compassion, joy, a global vision and, of course, culinary excellence,” said Bakhshandehpour in the statement.
