The British rock band Status quo announced this Sunday the death at 72 years of his bassist Alan Lancaster, one of the founding members the group.
“Alan suffered for many multiple sclerosis,” the band said in a statement, with which the bassist met in 2013 and 2014 to offer various concerts.
“We were friends and colleagues for many years and we achieved a great success together as the ‘four defranged’, along with Rick Partiff and John Coghlan,” remembered Francis Rossi, singer and group leader, who reached the popularity in the 1960s and
1970.
Although Rossi admitted that there was a “distancing” with the bassist in recent years, the singer stressed that he will always keep “very good memories” of his “first times together”.
The band sold tens of millions of discs at the time and threw simple success as the Whitever You Want theme.
