Elon Musk already has many children, apparently two were added at the end of November: According to a report, the Tesla boss became the father of twins. According to Business Insider, the mother is an executive at one of his companies.
According to a media report, Tesla boss Elon Musk and the director of his brain chip startup Neuralink, Shivon Zilis, have been parents of twins since November. Musk and Zilis filed a request in April to have the children’s names changed to “take their father’s last name,” Business Insider reported, citing court documents.
The relationship becoming known through the name change could be problematic for Musk. Most US companies the size of Tesla and SpaceX prohibit romantic relationships across two hierarchical levels. Zilis is also being considered as one of the people Musk could hire to run Twitter after his $44 billion acquisition, the report said.
Her career includes positions at Neuralink, Tesla and OpenAI, citing her now-deactivated LinkedIn profile. All three companies have strong ties to Musk, who founded Neuralink, co-founded OpenAI, and took over as Tesla helm in 2008. Musk and Zilis did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
The news of the twins’ birth in November brings Musk’s total number of children to nine. Musk and Canadian singer Grimes welcomed their second child via surrogate in December. Musk has five more children with his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson. A child from this marriage recently made headlines: According to the “TMZ” portal, a judge in Los Angeles agreed at the end of June that 18-year-old Xavier Alexander Musk, who identifies as a woman, can change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson. She is now also to be issued with a new birth certificate that reflects her gender identity.
Apparently, Vivian also wanted to break with her father with this step. On the one hand, she justified her original application, which she is said to have submitted shortly after her 18th birthday, with her gender identity. On the other hand, it said “that I no longer live with my biological father or want to be related to him in any way”.
