This Tuesday, the new government ministers, Héctor Gómez and José Manuel Miñones, have promised their new positions in the Palacio de la Zarzuela before Felipe VI.
The new ministers arrive to replace Reyes Maroto and Carolina Darias after their departures from the Executive due to the candidacies for the municipalities of Madrid and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Thus, Héctor Gómez has been chosen to replace Maroto in Industry and José Miñones is the new Minister of Health instead of Darias, but who are these new ministers? What do we know about them?
José Miñones Conde (A Coruña, 1972) is the new Minister of Health. After two years as a Government delegate in Galicia, Miñones arrives at Health with training in the health field.
Miñones has a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), where he obtained a doctorate in the same specialty with an extraordinary award. He has been a researcher of the regional program “Parga Pondal” from 2005 to 2011, as well as a contracted professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics with teaching at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the USC.
Héctor Gómez (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1978), is the new Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. He has a degree in Tourism from the University School of Tourism, a degree in Labor Sciences and a degree in Law. On this occasion, the President of the Government has chosen a profile familiar with one of the three key tasks of the Department that he is going to direct and that has a fundamental weight in the national GDP. Gómez has been the general manager of Turespaña and to this he adds extensive knowledge of Spanish foreign relations.
