Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) – The standard equipment of a Hessian prison cell in terms of furniture includes nine items. In addition to a bed and mattress, these include a trash can, bookshelves and a picture ledge, according to a response from the Ministry of Justice in Wiesbaden to a parliamentary question from the SPD parliamentary group. A single cell also has a table, a chair, a wardrobe and a shelf with food and valuables compartments.
There are no fixed intervals for the renovation of the rooms or the replacement of inventory, the ministry said. The prison decides that.
The standard set of clothing included 16 positions. In addition to short- and long-sleeved shirts and trousers in various designs, this also included bathing slippers and a parka. Here, too, a maximum period of use is not defined, the ministry explained. Damaged clothing will be repaired or replaced if necessary.
