Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) – Hesse gets a state health office. This was decided by the Hessian state parliament on Thursday in Wiesbaden with the votes of the black-green government coalition. With the decision, Hesse is improving the health protection of the population, strengthening the public health service and drawing an important lesson from the corona pandemic, said Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens).
The authority is intended to play a coordinating role as a link between the Ministry of Social Affairs and the state’s health authorities. It will be about the development of recommendations to ensure a uniform approach in Hesse. The authority should also support the health authorities with advice and become an interface between science and practice.
The Hessian State Office for Health and Care is planned as a decentralized health authority at four locations. The headquarters of the authority should be in Darmstadt.
