Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – The factions of the SPD and FDP accuse the Hessian state government of unsettling hunters in the state with their plans for a new hunting regulation. The action of the black-green coalition is non-transparent and chaotic, explained the hunting experts from the Social Democrats and the Liberals, Heinz Lotz and Wiebke Knell, on Friday in Wiesbaden. “We want a hunting ordinance that relies on the expertise of local hunters instead of encroaching on their property rights.”

The “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” reported in the Friday edition that the CDU and the Greens are said to have agreed on a draft of a new hunting regulation. According to this, the hunting of field hares, among other things, should remain in the previous scope. Hunting is permitted from October to December if sufficient animals have been identified. The partridge should therefore not be automatically protected in the new regulation.

The responsible Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection did not want to comment on the report when asked. The hunting ordinance is currently still in the legal examination, the ministry in Wiesbaden only announced. The State Hunting Association estimates that the Hessian Hunting Ordinance will be published shortly.
