Straußfurt (dpa/th) – Just under a week after explosive devices with a swastika inscription were found at a train station in Straußfurt, apartments and a garden plot were searched on Friday. The searched buildings in and around Straußfurt are linked to four men aged 17 to 33 who are known to the police for minor criminal offenses, said a spokeswoman for the State Criminal Police Office (LKA). They became aware of information from the public. According to the LKA, searches and interrogations are still ongoing, but there is no result yet.
Last Sunday at the Straußfurt train station, a witness found self-made explosive devices that had been deposited there. It is still unclear who put them there and why. Because a swastika was written on one of the two packages of explosive devices, which raised the suspicion of politically motivated crime, state security took over the investigation.
