Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Because he wanted to take part in the civil war in Syria as a fighter, a 34-year-old man is standing before the Frankfurt Regional Court from Tuesday (10:00 a.m.). The public prosecutor accuses the German national of preparing a serious act of violence that endangers the state. The 34-year-old was arrested in Turkey in August 2021 and later extradited to Germany. He had come to Turkey via Bulgaria, from where, according to the indictment, he wanted to travel to Syria. The State Protection Chamber is facing an extensive hearing of evidence with initially 22 days of negotiations until the end of March next year.
