Giessen (dpa/lhe) – Due to traffic offenses abroad, the regional council (RP) Giessen has so far sent over 6100 fine notices in Hesse this year. “We are currently experiencing a real boom in deliveries of these tickets,” said Christian Schmidt from RP on Monday. The reason for this is increased travel due to the relaxed corona restrictions. Most of the time it is about speeding, on average it is about 150 euros. EU states can also assert their claims for traffic violations in Germany and commission local authorities to do this, according to the announcement, the RP Gießen is responsible for Hesse.
