Kassel (dpa/lhe) – An unknown person caused damage of at least 2,000 euros with a presumably targeted firecracker throw on a balcony in Kassel. No one was injured in the explosion on Monday evening, the police said on Tuesday. In view of the damage, it can be assumed that it was a firecracker that was not approved in Germany. According to the information, a hole of about one meter was made in the cladding of the first floor balcony and a metal brace of the parapet was bent. The balcony paneling was thrown about ten meters away. In addition, the furniture, Christmas decorations and a power distribution box were damaged and there was a crack in a window pane.
A neighbor heard the bang and then noticed the damage to the balcony, it said. He saw a car driving away that could have something to do with the crime. The police are looking for witnesses.
