Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Because he is said to have killed his roommate with an iron bar in a men’s hostel, a new trial against a 52-year-old man begins today (10 a.m.). According to the indictment, he killed the 66-year-old man in February 2017 for reasons that are not yet known. In 2021, the perpetrator, who is an Ethiopian national, was sentenced to nine years in prison and subsequent placement in a psychiatric ward for manslaughter. The Federal Court of Justice later overturned the judgment for legal reasons. The defendant is currently in a psychiatric ward. The process is expected to be completed by the end of March.
