Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Also thanks to the help of a new thermal imaging camera, the Frankfurt fire brigade managed to save a woman from a burning apartment. When the emergency services came to a fire in the Ginnheim district on Wednesday, thick smoke was already pouring out of the windows of the apartment on the third floor of a building, as the fire department announced on Thursday. Because it was suspected that someone was in mortal danger there, emergency services went into the apartment with breathing apparatus.
Despite poor visibility in the fire smoke, the thermal imaging camera helped to find the woman in the apartment within minutes, the fire brigade reported. The woman was already unconscious, but then regained consciousness in the ambulance. What caused the fire was still unclear. The extent of the damage was also not known.
