Gilserberg/Homberg (dpa/lhe) – Unknown persons sawed a tree around 15 meters high in northern Hesse, so that it fell onto a federal road. The oak blocked the federal road 3 near Gilserberg (Schwalm-Eder-Kreis) until it was cleared away by the fire brigade. People were not harmed, as the police in Homberg announced on Friday.
The trunk, which is a good 40 centimeters thick, only damaged a crash barrier. The damage was around 500 euros. It was initially unclear who allegedly brought down the tree with a chainsaw on Thursday evening. The police have started the investigation.
