Halle (dpa/sa) – The municipalities of Saxony-Anhalt collected around half a million euros more dog tax in the first half of this year than in the same period last year. Accordingly, the municipal coffers booked income of around 6.544 million euros, as announced by the State Statistical Office in Halle on Friday. The amount of the dog tax has increased even more significantly compared to the first half of 2019, i.e. before Corona. The increase there was 21 percent. Halle (EUR 632,000) achieved the highest income from the dog tax, followed by Magdeburg (EUR 618,000) and Dessau-Roßlau (EUR 246,000).
