Josh Allen, Bills quarterback, knows what he needs to improve on as he enters Year Five.
Allen saw his interceptions rise from 10 in 2020, to 15 in 2021. He wants to reduce those turnovers. Allen also wants his receivers to gain more yardage after each catch, after seeing his yards per passing average drop from 7.9 in 2020 down to 6.8 by 2021.
Allen stated via the Bills’ website that “main thing is still limiting turnovers and limiting bad decisions, then ball placement on the underneath routes, allowing guys to get more YAC.” “Last season, I don’t think we were very successful in this department. It’s my job to get the ball to where it should be, and let our players use their legs to catch. These are my two main priorities. I’m still trying to build a relationship with Ken Dorsey, the new Bills offensive coordinator, and understand why he calls certain things in certain situations.
Allen wasn’t at the same level in 2021 than he was in 2020. However, he was almost flawless in the two postseason games following the 2021 regular-season. The Bills will be pleased with their fifth-year franchise quarterback if Allen can reduce turnovers and give his receivers more chances for big plays.
