Olivier Veran (Ensemble), stood for his succession at the 1st District of Isere (38) during the legislative election. With 40.50% of all votes cast, he is first. He will be facing Salome Robin (36.86%) on June 19.

After being close to being elected in round one, the former Minister of Health was largely victorious in 2017.

His role as Minister of Health and the management of the pandemic may have had an impact on his reelection. He will not be sitting, especially since he is Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament and Democratic Life.

One could not believe that the constituency was anchored to the right – voters voted 79.05% in favor of Emmanuel Macron in round two of the presidential election – its past is more on the left. Jean-Luc Melenchon finished only three points behind the president in the first round. This was a blessing for Olivier Veran’s main rival, Salome Robin (19), from Nupes.

Olivier Veran was a PS color deputy, and he served as Genevieve Fioraso’s replacement between 2012-2015.
