Bad Sülze/Rostock (dpa/mv) – Due to work in the area of ??the large construction site near Tribsees (Vorpommern-Rügen district), the Autobahn 20 between Bad Sülze and Tribsees will be completely closed again on Wednesday. Between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., drivers in both directions have to switch to state roads 19 and 23, as Autobahn GmbH announced on Tuesday. Accordingly, a crane should be dismantled.
In autumn 2017, the A20 between the Bad Sülze and Tribsees junctions collapsed spectacularly over a length of around 90 metres. The images of the huge hole went around the world. According to an expert report by the Technical University of Berlin, in addition to the structural engineering of the road section, high stress and a sinking of the groundwater also contributed to this.
There were repeated blockages in the course of the work. According to earlier information, the 180 million euro construction project should be completed by the end of this year.
