Gützkow (dpa/mv) – After the morning raid on a money transporter near Gützkow (Western Pomerania-Greifswald), the search for the robbers continues. As a police spokeswoman said on Thursday, the two affected employees of the security service, to which the money transport belonged, are still being questioned. They would be the only witnesses who could have seen the perpetrators’ cars. The robbers are said to have been armed. However, it is not yet clear in what way.
According to previous investigations, the perpetrators are said to have wedged the money transporter with two vehicles around 6:30 a.m. and forced it to stop. The incident happened at the Autobahn 20 Gützkow junction, where the federal highway 111 runs. Nobody got hurt. The perpetrators fled with their own van, taking their loot to an unknown amount.
The police called on possible witnesses to the incident and the escape to come forward. The search continues on a large scale, but has so far been unsuccessful.
