Trantow (dpa/mv) – Unknown persons broke into the cultural association in Trantow (West Pomerania-Greifswald) at the weekend. As a police spokesman said on Monday, the cultural association’s entire proceeds were stolen at the village festival on Saturday. The perpetrator(s) broke into the building by force and welded open a safe. In the 500-inhabitant town not far from Greifswald, the 34th village festival was celebrated on Saturday and into the early Sunday morning with many visitors and a double of the singer Andreas Gabalier. The damage was given as more than 10,000 euros. A club member reported the incident on Monday morning.
