Stralsund (dpa / mv) – The Stralsund Police Inspectorate now officially has a new boss. Rainer Dittschlag was inaugurated on Wednesday by Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Minister of the Interior, Christian level (SPD), the police said. The 59-year-old has been in charge of the inspection since September 2022.

According to the information, Dittschlag, who was born in Wismar, did his training with the People’s Police of the GDR. After stations in Schwerin and Greifswald, among others, he came to Stralsund in 2011. He was deputy police inspector here for eleven years. Dittschlag’s predecessor, Michael Peters, is now Vice President of the Rostock Police Headquarters.

The area of ??responsibility of the Stralsund police station corresponds to the area of ??the Vorpommern-Rügen district and includes more than 220,000 inhabitants. About 500 police officers and detectives work in Dittschlag’s area of ??police inspection.
