Rostock (dpa / mv) – The Federal Government’s Eastern Commissioner, Carsten Schneider, is expected on Tuesday (12.00 p.m.) in the Rostock overseas port. On the agenda are issues of energy supply, the energy transition and climate protection. The SPD politician also wants to address the question of how the port can develop as a core for an East German hydrogen pipeline network and an energy hub for hydrogen.
After a panel discussion at the Rationalization and Innovation Center of the German Economy, Schneider visits the Warnemünde shipyard. Last week, the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks submitted an offer for the location of the former MV shipyards. If the contract is awarded, the authority could take over the shipyard’s infrastructure in order to locate the Bundeswehr’s naval arsenal there. The Arsenal is responsible for the maintenance of the Navy’s ships. The number of jobs that could be created was given as 400 to 500.
