Stralsund (dpa / mv) – So-called grandchild fraudsters brought an 85-year-old woman in Stralsund for 33,000 euros. The police announced on Thursday. In her case, and in several other cases in the Northeast, the scammers suggested that a family member had been arrested and bail – typically €30,000 – had to be paid. In the case of the 85-year-old, money was actually handed over on Wednesday, the police said. In the other cases, the scam was quickly exposed. In the event of such calls, the police warned against responding to the demands or disclosing personal information.
