Schwerin (dpa / mv) – On Tuesday night there could be another storm in the north-east. Heavy rainfall of more than 30 liters per hour and square meter is possible, especially in the eastern part of the country, said a spokeswoman for the German Weather Service (DWD) late Monday afternoon. Since the quantity and location are difficult to forecast, any severe weather warnings would be issued at short notice.
Precipitation is expected to move east on Tuesday morning. The temperatures are therefore expected to drop – to 22 degrees on the coast and 26 degrees in the south. It is expected to remain warm and dry.
There were heavy thunderstorms in parts of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania late Monday afternoon. According to the spokeswoman, the region south of Rostock was affected. It was a locally very limited thunderstorm with precipitation of more than 30 liters per square meter in a short time. The DWD had previously warned of severe thunderstorms (level three of four) in a storm warning. The control center of the Rostock police headquarters were initially not aware of any weather-related operations.
