Schwerin (dpa / mv) – The public prosecutor’s office has demanded a several-year prison sentence for a 58-year-old man from Wismar, who is before the Schwerin district court for drug trafficking and bodily harm. At the end of the trial on Friday, the prosecution called for five years and nine months in prison in their plea. The public prosecutor saw it as proven that the man was running drug deals in his apartment. The man also hit and choked an acquaintance who was addicted to drugs during a birthday party.

The defense attorney campaigned in court for a lighter sentence for the man, who already had a criminal record, because the knives found in the apartment had nothing to do with drug trafficking. The verdict is to be announced on Friday.
