Schwerin (dpa / mv) – Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania wants to bring the student companies back to life and support them. “As a result of the corona pandemic, many student companies have had to shut down their operations. In order to support the restart and continuation of existing companies, we want to create the position of a state specialist coordinator, among other things,” said Minister of Education Simone Oldenburg (left) on Monday. She will also work to ensure that student companies are generally exempt from sales tax.
“Even if, to our knowledge, all student companies are subject to the small business regulation and therefore do not have to pay sales tax, it is still important to create security and plannability for all student companies,” said the Minister of Education. Student companies could convey a sense of responsibility and basic business knowledge in a variety of practical and descriptive ways.
Student companies are a special form of school project work in which students independently implement their own business ideas. Under the legal umbrella of the school, a student company produces and sells real products or offers services. The sales market of a student company is the school and the school environment.
