Anklam (dpa / mv) – Unknown people fired a New Year’s Eve rocket at a daycare center in Anklam (West Pomerania-Greifswald). As a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday, the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon while small children were still playing on the daycare site. Parents were also picking up their children.

The firecracker was caught by a tree on the daycare site so no one was injured, the spokeswoman said. According to initial investigations, the New Year’s rocket is said to have come from a block of flats opposite the children’s facility in the south-west of Anklam. The police are investigating attempted dangerous bodily harm and violating the Explosives Act and are hoping for information.
