Plaaz (dpa/mv) – On Sunday evening, police officers stopped the drive of a heavily overloaded truck at a rest area near Plaaz (Rostock district) on the A19 motorway. Officials noticed that the truck was too heavy, the police said on Monday. When weighing it came out that the vehicle weighed 5.62 tons instead of the permitted total weight of 3.5 tons. They prohibited the 59-year-old driver from continuing to drive the truck. He and the owner can expect a fine in the three-digit range.
