Weisdin (dpa/mv) – Two people were injured in an accident after a right-of-way error on the federal highway 96 near Weisdin (Mecklenburg Lake District). As a police spokesman said on Thursday, a 70-year-old driver had overlooked another car when driving onto the B96 on Wednesday. The vehicles collided, causing the driver’s car to be thrown far into a field.

The 70-year-old was seriously injured, but is said not to be in mortal danger. The B96 was temporarily closed to recover both car wrecks between Neustrelitz and Neubrandenburg. The damage was estimated at 60,000 euros.
