Blankenhagen (dpa / mv) – A fire in a semi-detached house caused damage of around 300,000 euros in Blankenhagen (Rostock district). As a police spokesman said on Friday, the entire two-family house in the Cordshagen district is currently uninhabitable. According to initial findings, the fire broke out in a shed on Thursday. The flames first spread to the adjacent half of the semi-detached house and then also caught the roof structure on the other side of the house.
Ten residents from two buildings had to be evacuated. Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the second house. All residents were unharmed. The police suspect a technical cause in the shed that started the fire. A fire expert should clarify this exactly.
