Schwerin (dpa / mv) – The convincing start of his team in the volleyball Bundesliga surprised coach Felix Koslowski. “I thought that if we got our nerves under control quickly, we could control the game. But I didn’t expect this clarity,” said the head coach of SSC Palmberg Schwerin. His team won 3-0 (25-9, 25-19, 25-17) at Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt on Saturday evening.

In the first round, the women from Schwerin quickly led 4-0 and then continuously pulled away. “We put an incredible amount of pressure on our serve, so Erfurt couldn’t even build up the game due to the tempo wave,” Koslowski said, adding: “The first set helped us to build up a good level of self-confidence.”

Although the SSC did not act as dominantly in the second round, they never came into danger. Only in the third section did the SSC have to accept a deficit for the first time. After the 3:7 in the meantime, the Mecklenburgers got five points in a row and finally the match win. For him, this phase was the key moment, said the coach. “For me, what was more interesting than winning the first two sets was the reaction in the third set, when we got a bit of pressure and interrupted Erfurt’s momentum.”
