Copenhagen/Schwerin (dpa/mv) – After her two-day visit to Copenhagen, Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) believes that greater cooperation is possible, especially in the energy sector. “Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has been cooperating with Denmark for many years, for example in business and science,” she said on Tuesday in Schwerin. She is confident of being able to expand this further.
At the end of the visit, Schwesig met with the Danish State Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Lars Frelle Petersen. The head of government in the north-east sees the possibility of increased cooperation in this area in particular. Electricity from Danish wind farms can also be fed into the German grid via the Lubmin hub, and it is also possible to bring hydrogen to Germany via the pipelines there.
