Schwerin (dpa / mv) – The state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania wants to regulate the handling of its investments. The state currently holds 71 ??holdings in companies organized under private or public law, in 24 cases also the majority of the shares. This includes corporations such as the state forests, holdings in ports such as in Rostock, museums, IT companies such as the DVZ or the radio mast infrastructure company.
Instead of having the investments – depending on the industry – managed by different ministries themselves, the Ministry of Finance should in future specify a common line. The shareholder rights are moving to the Ministry of Finance, “but the political responsibility remains in the specialist departments,” explained Finance Minister Heiko Geue (SPD) on Tuesday in Schwerin at the presentation of the investment report for the years 2019 to 2021.
