Rostock (dpa/mv) – In the night from Monday to Tuesday (from 8 p.m.) police officers in Rostock train for emergencies in one of the largest such exercises in the history of the country. With up to 1000 participants, the scenario of a terrorist attack is to be recreated at the main station. There will be disruption around the station and noise, for example from practice ammunition. According to the police, there is expressly no danger to citizens.
According to the information, the area south of the main train station will be gradually blocked off from the afternoon. This also affects parking lots there. In the evening, the station will only be accessible from the north. Trams will temporarily stop neither on the south side of the station nor inside the station. Shortly before midnight, tram traffic through the main train station is to be stopped completely until the early morning.
In view of the events of the past few years, the federal and state police want to prepare their patrol forces in particular to be the first to react to one or more armed perpetrators in an emergency.
