Parchim (dpa/mv) – In a small town near Parchim, thieves professionally removed and stole parts of the electronic control system from a car. As a police spokesman said on Wednesday, the car was parked in a parking lot in Drefahl (Ludwigslust-Parchim). Such a case of looting, in which parts disappeared from the engine compartment, had not happened for years. According to previous investigations, the driver’s door was forced open, then the bonnet was unlocked and several parts were dismantled and taken from the engine compartment.

The owner parked the car near a restaurant on Monday and noticed the theft on Tuesday evening. Since an open bonnet should actually be noticed, the police are hoping for information from witnesses. Drefahl is near Ziegendorf near the Autobahn 24 Berlin-Hamburg.
