The tractor unit was still attached to a trailer that was on a ferry. The owner of the team wanted to cross the Bodden from Schaprode at noon, the police said. Suddenly, the tractor rolled away despite the handbrake being on. The driver had previously got out to operate the ferry. After the accident, the fire brigade put up barriers to prevent possible contamination of the water. The tractor was pulled out of the water by a company. The damage is estimated at 15,000 euros.
