The cross-divisional major project “Merlin oder das wuste Land”, which was announced for the end of the season, is now scheduled to premiere on October 15th. The piece by Tankred Dorst, which tells of the magician Merlin, is accompanied by music by the English baroque composer Henry Purcell. Merlin is supposed to seduce people to evil, but he defies his father’s order.
At the beginning of September, the season should start with an extraordinary project. Premiere is on March 17, 2023.
The Volkstheater invites you to the Christmas carols on December 22nd in the Ostseestadion. Around 10,000 people came to the premiere in 2019. In the two following years, the event was canceled due to the corona pandemic.
