Saerbeck (dpa / lnw) – A 26-year-old man is in custody because he is said to have killed his 25-year-old neighbor in Saerbeck (Steinfurt district). An arrest warrant for manslaughter was issued on Wednesday, police and prosecutors said. The autopsy found strangulation marks and cuts on the neck and stab wounds in the woman’s abdomen.
The 25-year-old was last seen on Sunday morning, and her body was discovered in a bush on Tuesday morning. Police officers questioned the woman’s friends and neighbors and came across the 26-year-old, who got caught up in contradictions. During an interrogation, according to the investigators, he admitted to having killed the woman. He was arrested on Tuesday.
According to the police, the woman is said to have rejected the man’s “relationship intentions”. However, the background to the crime and the exact facts are still being investigated.
