North Rhine-Westphalia: 53-year-old found dead after house fire

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The fire brigade found a 53-year-old woman dead in Düsseldorf after an apartment fire. A neighbor alerted the emergency services on Sunday afternoon because of the smell of fire, the fire brigade said. The firefighters then found the lifeless woman in the smoke-filled apartment; the fire had gone out. An emergency doctor could only determine the death of the 53-year-old. What the woman died of and how the fire started is still part of an investigation, police said.
