Kleve/Rheurdt (dpa/lnw) – In a serious traffic accident with three fatalities near Rheurdt on the Lower Rhine, according to the investigators, the alleged driver of the accident should not have had a driver’s license. “He does not have a driver’s license,” said a spokesman for the Kleve public prosecutor’s office on Saturday. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported on the results of the investigation. The vehicle is said to have had license plates from another car. The car also had no liability insurance.

Three people were killed in the serious traffic accident on Monday afternoon when the car crashed into a tree. The alleged driver, a one-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy died at the scene of the accident from their serious injuries. A 26-year-old who was also in the car was seriously injured.

According to the Kleve public prosecutor’s office, the investigation into the exact course of the accident is ongoing.
