Werl (dpa / lnw) – After an accident due to a wrong-way trip on the A44 towards Dortmund, in which two people were injured, the alleged wrong-way driver was found. The 59-year-old from northern Hesse reported to a police station on Saturday, the police said. The woman had been intensively searched for, including a photo.
The alleged wrong-way driver is said to have been traveling in the wrong direction on Thursday on the A44. At the Werl-Süd junction, she is said to have caused an accident in which, according to the police, at least two cars were involved. A woman and a man were injured, and the suspected wrong-way driver fled.
The police had announced that because of the course of the accident there was also the initial suspicion of an attempted homicide, which is why an investigative commission was set up. The police did not give any further details on Saturday, the investigation was ongoing.
