Lüdenscheid (dpa / lnw) – Two unidentified men, heavily armed, attacked a supermarket in Lüdenscheid (Märkischer Kreis). According to initial investigations, the two men ambushed two employees of the store early Thursday morning, threatened them with a machete and a black handgun and forced them to hand over cash. The employees had to pack the loot in a black sports bag, the police said. The perpetrators, masked with towels, then tied up the employees and escaped.

The supermarket employees could have freed themselves, it said. Search measures have so far been unsuccessful. The police are now looking for witnesses.
