Dortmund (dpa / lnw) – A young driver drove into a wall in Dortmund and the vehicle caught fire. When the first emergency services arrived on Saturday morning, the vehicle was stuck in a wall and flames were shooting out of the hood, the fire department said. The driver was only slightly injured, so he was able to get out of the car himself. He came to the hospital. With their extinguishing measures, the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading from the vehicle to a commercial establishment.
According to the first findings of the police, the 20-year-old drove head-on into the wall when turning. The investigation into the cause of the accident was ongoing, said a police spokesman. It will be checked whether the driver could have driven too fast. According to initial findings, no other vehicles were involved.
