Bonn (dpa / lnw) – In a trial against a 52-year-old for attempted murder of her father, the Bonn district court acquitted the accused. The court ruled on Thursday that the woman could not be proven to have acted in the four-day circumstantial process. The accused had denied the allegations. Now the unsolved case has to be determined again.

The public prosecutor had accused the defendant from the Rhein-Sieg district of repeatedly hitting her father’s head with an ax in February 2021. Then she should have left the critically injured and retired to her apartment in the same house. The 81-year-old was only found unconscious two days later and was then in a coma for a year and a half before he died in July of this year.

Since the deaf daughter lived with her father in the same house at the time of the crime and there were often arguments between the two, the 52-year-old was suspected.

In the Chamber’s opinion, the perpetrator must be someone who knew the scene of the crime very well and who might have had a key. A burglary can be ruled out.
