Höxter (dpa / lnw) – In a collision on a federal road in Höxter, a deer crashed through the windshield of a car and died. The animal died on the spot and the 39-year-old driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the police said on Friday.
The deer crossed the road on Thursday morning and was hit by the car. It smashed through the windscreen and then got stuck there. The police warned of wildlife accidents. Especially in the evening and early morning hours, deer crossing must always be expected in rural and wooded areas, it said.
