Kerken (dpa / lnw) – An 82-year-old woman crashed her electric vehicle into a nearly two-meter-deep excavation in Kerken on the Lower Rhine. She was seriously injured, the police said on Monday. According to this, the senior citizen had been on a bike path at noon. When she wanted to drive past the construction pit, she fell sideways into the hole and tore a warning barge with her. The woman then called the emergency services on her cell phone. However, since one of the 82-year-old’s legs was trapped under the e-mobile, the rescue workers first had to lift the vehicle out of the pit. The woman was later rescued with serious injuries and taken to the hospital.
