Gevelsberg (dpa / lnw) – Kindergarten children and their supervisors had to save themselves from their daycare center in Gevelsberg (Ennepe-Ruhr district) on Wednesday because of a fire in a group room. The fire department said they were unharmed. The cause of the fire was unclear. The criminal police are still investigating on site, said a police spokesman on Wednesday evening.
The fire brigade was called to the daycare center on Wednesday morning. When firefighters arrived, children and caregivers had already escaped from the building. The fire in one of the group rooms was then quickly extinguished, it said.
