Essen (dpa / lnw) – People in North Rhine-Westphalia can expect another hot day on Thursday. However, it will cool down significantly by the weekend, according to the German Weather Service (DWD), showers and thunderstorms are also possible.
On Thursday it will remain cloudless, the temperature will be a maximum of 31 to 35 degrees. The night will also be mostly clear with stars, it will cool down to 17 to 20 degrees.
On Friday, on the other hand, increasingly dense cloud fields are moving over the country from the west, and the probability of showers and thunderstorms increases throughout the day. According to the DWD, it cools down to 25 to 28 degrees in the west of NRW, in the east it can still be up to 31 degrees. 14 to 18 degrees and isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected overnight.
At the start of the weekend it will be significantly cooler on Saturday, with maximum temperatures between 22 and 25 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms can be expected again, especially in the first half of the day, before loosening up is foreseen coming from the north-west.
According to the DWD, Sunday will be sunny and free of precipitation at 19 to 24 degrees.
