A 31-year-old man from Marl is said to have stabbed his girlfriend’s husband in Dortmund. At the start of the murder trial, the court expects numerous spectators from both Lebanese families. But things are different.
Dortmund (dpa / lnw) – Out of anger, a 31-year-old man from Marl is said to have stabbed his girlfriend’s husband in Dortmund in April. The Lebanese has had to answer to the Dortmund jury since Tuesday. The charge is murder. On the advice of the defense, the accused initially refrained from commenting on the allegations himself. That should be done by the end of October at the latest, explained defender Christian Simonis in the process.
According to the public prosecutor, the accused drove from Marl to Dortmund on the night of April 9, 2022, together with two previously unknown accomplices. He had allegedly found out that his girlfriend’s estranged husband wanted to visit his sister that night. The trio is said to have broken the door to the sister’s apartment and immediately hit the victim in the hallway. After all, the 31-year-old pulled out a knife and stabbed his defenseless opponent at least eleven times, according to the indictment.
At the beginning of the trial, the jury had expected numerous spectators from both Lebanese families. However, the additional security measures proved to be unnecessary. When the hearing was called, only three spectators had turned up.
