Essen (dpa / lnw) – In the new week in North Rhine-Westphalia, with a view to the weather, one thing in particular is missing: rain. Instead, the dry and warm air should continue to warm up, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced Monday morning. Because of the drought, there is a high risk of forest fires (level 4), especially in the south.

The week starts on Monday with lots of sunshine and maximum temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees. In the night on Tuesday, the temperatures drop to 15 to 11 degrees, in the mountains occasionally to 9 degrees. According to the DWD, the trend of sun, few clouds and high temperatures continued for the rest of the week. From Wednesday at the latest, temperatures will rise to over 30 degrees.
